Health Team; Patient and Family are key Members
It is easy for one to regard health professionals as those who constitute the healthcare team; but did you know that one of the most important members of the healthcare team is the patient or family?
What is Primary/Preventive Healthcare?
Many players in the health field have varying definitions and explanations of what Primary Health Care is over the years. One to fall on in my deliberation is a definition put together by these two world bodies: the World Health Organization and the United Nation Children’s Fund as penned below;
Importance of Primary Healthcare-Ghana’s Model
Primary healthcare promotes equal/equitable access and distribution of healthcare delivery. This is possible because it is easier and cheaper to access by both the rich and the poor; that cannot always be the case for secondary healthcare services.
REPLICATE CHPS ZONE SYSTEM IN CITIES/URBAN AREAS
I would advocate that, services provided at the health centers in the communities should be absolutely free. No health insurance should be required to receive care in these facilities. Health insurance and any other cost to clients should only be considered for services beyond the health posts.

CHOLERA OUTBREAK IN GHANA, 2024: A NATIONAL DISGRACE
The issue of cholera outbreak should never be limited to public education on personal and environmental hygiene because that’s not the root cause of the infection. The root cause is the government’s failure to provide safe environment for its citizens. It’s not the job of communities to provide for themselves good source of drinking water; that’s the job of the government.
