According to a police report, the incident was reported on April 3, 2026, at about 4:20 p.m. by Stephen Anto. He stated that earlier that morning, around 9:30 a.m., the suspect used a pair of scissors to cut off the right index toe of her daughter, Diana Boakye.

The child was quickly taken to Kofikrom SDA Hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment and responding well.

Police visited the hospital after the report and confirmed that the girl’s right index toe had been severed. The victim reportedly told officers that her mother was responsible for the act.

The severed toe was collected, documented, and kept as evidence to support the investigation. A medical report form was also issued for further documentation of the injury.

The suspect remains in police custody and is expected to appear in court after the Easter break when proceedings resume.

Police say investigations are ongoing, and more updates will be provided as the case develops.
