An educational technology consultant and experienced examiner, Ernest Ato Bentsil, has revealed a disturbing trend among some students during national examinations: inserting love notes and personal phone numbers in place of answers in their exam booklets.

Speaking on Connect FM’s Omanbapa Morning Show with Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, Mr. Bentsil, who is also CEO of Jnycafey Training Consult, described this practice as a reflection of deeper issues within Ghana's education system.
“As an examiner, sometimes you open an answer booklet and realize the candidate hasn’t written anything academic,” he said. “On one occasion, a female student had written, ‘I’m a beautiful girl’ along with her phone number, hoping the examiner might call her for some form of negotiation. But WAEC regulations strictly forbid such contact.”
His comments come amid ongoing concerns over the poor performance of candidates in the recently released WASSCE results.
