A teacher at Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region has been suspended by the Ghana Education Service (GES) following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a female student in what appeared to be a science lab in the school.
According to a statement issued by the Service, management became aware of a video circulating on social media that allegedly shows the teacher and a student in a compromising situation. The incident has attracted widespread public attention and prompted immediate action from education authorities.
GES confirmed that the teacher has been interdicted in accordance with its regulations while investigations into the matter are ongoing. The Service explained that the suspension is a procedural step intended to allow for a fair and thorough investigation.
Reaffirming its stance on professional conduct, GES strongly condemned any form of inappropriate relationship between teachers and students, describing such behavior as a serious violation of ethical standards within the education sector.
The Service also reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on sexual misconduct and urged all education personnel to maintain the highest levels of professionalism and integrity in their duties.
GES assured the public that the safety and welfare of students remain a top priority, adding that any individual found guilty after investigations will face the necessary disciplinary and legal consequences.
Authorities at Bole Senior High School are expected to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigations. GES indicated that additional information will be made available as the case develops.
