Ghanaian SHS students completed school on June 19, 2026 amidst excitement and jubilation nationwide. However, beyond the euphoria; after few days or a week, many students, parents or guardians would be thinking about one thing: “When will the results be released by WAEC?”
Has WAEC Announced the Official Release Date?
As of now, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is yet to announce an official date for the release of 2026 WASSCE School Candidates' results in Ghana.
When Are the Results Expected?
Although the examination body, WAEC has not announced the official date for result release, based on past years’ precedent, the results are widely expected to be out in late August or early September; that is two to three months after the end of the examination.
Be careful of Fake Release Dates
Students are therefore advised to be patient, vigilant and not fall victim to scammers who announced false release date with a promise to help students access results before the official release at a fee. The scammers usually direct result expectants to false WAEC result websites where they could easily mislead them.
How to Check Your WASSCE 2026 Results
As students wait for the official release date or actual release of their results, let me share with them the usual process involved in accessing released results online:
- Visit the official WAEC results portal.
- Enter their Index Number.
- Select the examination year.
- Enter the Serial Number and PIN from a valid WAEC Results Checker.
- Click "Submit" to view the results.
After checking your results, you should:
- Print a copy of your results.
- Apply to your preferred universities or tertiary institutions.
- Keep your results checker details safe.
- Follow admission updates from your chosen institutions.
