President John Dramani Mahama has directed the Ministry of Health to prepare and present a new bill to Parliament aimed at punishing health workers who refuse to provide emergency medical care.
The directive signals a renewed government effort to address a long-standing concern within Ghana’s healthcare system, where some patients in critical condition have reportedly been denied treatment due to issues such as inability to pay upfront fees, lack of hospital beds, or administrative delays.
