According to the most recent FIFA rankings, the Black Stars have fallen six spots after failing to win any games in September.

Black Stars' poor international performance in September contributed to six spots drop in the most recent Fifa men's global rankings.

In the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, Ghana lost to Angola and drew with Niger, failing to win either of the two group matches that were held in September.

After losing 1-0 to Angola on September 5, The Ghana's 24-year home unbeaten streak at the Baba Yara stadium came to an end. Following that, a 1-1 draw with Niger in Morocco left the squad tied for last place in the group.

Ghana dropped six spots from the previous rankings to land at number 70 worldwide, and it also dropped two spots in the CAF category.

Ghana fell back to 14th in Africa after winning back-to-back games in June that had moved the team up to 12th.

The Black Stars' next match is against Sudan in October. Ghana currently has no stadium up to international standard according to CAF and this has been called out a national disgrace by many in the country.
