The much-hyped fight between the legend Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, a social media influencer turned prize-fighter took place yesterday November 15. The 27-year-old boxer defeated the once feared heavy weight champion of the world.
Mike Tyson a day before, slapped his opponent at final face off. Though promoters did not reveal how much Tyson earned for Friday’s fight, reports online suggest he will make around 20million dollars which is more than his current estimated net worth of 10 million dollars.
While many around the world are opposed to the fight for fear of Mike Tyson belittling his legend status or legacy, the 58-year formal heavy weight world champion shrug it off, adding that such mindset is an issue of ego and he is not interested in any of it. According to him, he just wants to please himself and be happy.
"I didn't prove nothing to anybody, only to myself”. "I'm not one of those guys that looks to please the world. I'm just happy with what I can do." Tyson stated.
On the other hand, Jake Paul, the 27-year-old youtuber cum prize-tag boxer admitted he planned never to knock out Mike throughout the fight. He went on to say Mike Tyson is the greatest of all (GOAT) and he doesn’t deserve to be hurt. He demonstrated total respect to the world legend by bowing to him before the final bell.
