Rumours making rounds on social media this dawn October 29, suggests Akua Donkor, the flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), has passed on.
Demise of Akua Donkor is being reported by some traditional media outlets such as Adomonline news and social media users who chanced on the rumour are expressing their disbelief and hope it remains just a rumour.
Ghanaians across the country and beyond would be thrown into state of shock and mourning if this rather sad news is confirmed true in hours’ time.
Her Political Ambition
Madam Akua Donkor burst onto the Ghanaian political scene in 2012 when she applied to contest that year’s general election but was disqualified by the electoral commission along with several others.
Since then, Madam Donkor represented rather humorous side of often heated political scene in the country as she often makes interesting and funny remarks.
Also, considering the fact that, she is not known to have receive any formal education, many Ghanaians do not take her serious in her presidential ambition.
This year, she successfully joined the presidential race slated for December 7 amidst her usual controversial and humorous posture and comments.
A month ago, she became topic for discussion in the Ghanaian media when she sorts of vehemently defended Ghana’s Electoral Commission at IPAC meeting after the NDC accused it of trying to orchestrate electoral fraud in favour of the ruling party, NPP.
She was criticised by John Mahama for her action at that meeting and she has threatened to sue the former president for undermining her credibility and competence in contesting the presidential election.
